I worked with scientists to develop a logo for the INvestigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) project, a $177 million collaboration of Colorado State University with NASA. The design represents an anvil cloud formation that often occurs before severe storms, with the star shapes representing the three satellites above. For more information on INCUS, visit incus.colostate.edu/mission/overview.
I developed several versions for different uses, including full, partial, and single color versions. All work was done as vector art in Adobe Illustrator for future resolution-independent requirements. At the bottom of the page is an example of a reference sheet provided to the research group for future use.
